- attention deficit:
I believe my whole family suffers from this. Apparently I have it, but it didn’t affect my school work – I was kind of a brain ha ha! But my housework abilities suffer. - back to school:
I still want to go back to college, but this, again, is on hold. I really want to get either a music therapy degree or an occupational therapy degree.

- cochlear implants:
Chris is a candidate for these – hearing aide devices for severely impaired individuals. It involves a surgery in which magnets or some such device is implanted to enable hearing aides to work for severely deaf people. You also have to wear a hearing aide with it. However, Chris may NOT be a good candidate with his autism to put up with something like this – we are being advised about that at this time. - early intervention:
A Godsend. We had it for Ryan since he was 15 months. They tracked his speech delay, etc., and he has had speech therapy since about 18 months of age. They suspected his hearing loss and he was diagnosed at 3. I wish Chris could have had it – we didn’t know about it then. - hearing loss:
Affects many in my family – my two sons; myself, I believe; my dad (who has passed away); and my two cousins. All on my dad’s side. - mh class:
Multi-handicapped class, serves many kind of individuals with physical, emotional, mental, etc., disabilities. Chris was in one a few times, but mostly has been in autism classes. We don’t know yet if Ryan will be in one. The teachers were wonderful. - part-time working mom:
Me, for years! I worked part time after the birth of my son Christopher, and did so from 1991-1994, again from 1995-1999, and then again (from home mostly) from 1999-2003. I may work at home again starting in 2007 when Ryan is in kindergarten. - sahm:
Me, now! I love it very much, but it can be worrisome financially! We are about to get a new house (well, an old house, but new to us!) and I feel we may need more money that I can earn in a few years as I said above. I know we’ve been blessed with Rog having sufficient work to keep me home during these crucial years of the boys being diagnosed with hearing loss. The kids need me home now. - special needs children:
A big part of my life. I love them very much! - weight loss:
Also a big part of my life, along with weight gain! Ha ha. Lately (since May) I have lost 16 pounds. I need to lose more and am kind of at a standstill right now. I lost that by replacing sugar with Splenda. I think now I need to cut back fat and increase exercise.

Ahh, so busy. I’d been wanting to do that survey for a while, but have to get busy packing again. We’re waiting on FINAL COMPLETE approval on our loan by Wed. If there is any more hitches I shall have a heart attack.
